Herfa is a district of Heringen (Werra) in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in East Hesse .

geography

Herfa lies, surrounded by forest, west of the main town in the Seulingswald . State road 3255 runs through the village .

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1335. The place name was written Hirpff or Herpf . In 1579 a small church was mentioned.

On August 1, 1972, Herfa was incorporated into the city of Heringen (Werra) as part of the regional reform in Hesse .
