Wölfershausen is a district of Heringen (Werra) in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in East Hesse .

geography

Wölfershausen is located in East Hesse on Herfabach , southwest of the main town on the Werra . Roads 3255 and 3306 run through the village .

history

The village was first mentioned in 1397 with the place name Wulfirshus .

As Margaret of herring in 1432 the whole of the Abbey of Fulda to fiefs held court herring to the Landgrave Ludwig I of Hesse sold, the corresponding then came Wüstung "Wulfershusen" of Hesse and with the entire court for office Friedewald .

In 1585 the first church was built in the repopulated place.

On September 15, 1968, Wölfershausen was incorporated into Heringen (Werra) in the run-up to the regional reform in Hesse , which received city ​​rights in 1977 .
