Heribert Brander

Heribert Brander (born December 10, 1926 in Aidhausen ) is a German Roman Catholic clergyman and was vicar general of the diocese of Würzburg .

Life

After graduating from high school, Heribert Brander studied theology in Würzburg. He received on 20 July 1952 in the Neumünsterkirche the ordination by Julius Döpfner and was subsequently first chaplain in Großwallstadt and at the Holy Cross Church in Würzburg . Before he became director of the Julianeum in 1960, student chaplain at the Polytechnic and Caritas pastor, he was chaplain at the Diocesan Caritas Association in Würzburg for three years. After the cathedral minister he (until 1983), on January 1, 1969 canon was and city dean of Würzburg, he was from 1989 to 2001 Domdekan . Bishop Paul-Werner Scheele appointed him Vicar General of the Diocese of Würzburg in 1983. He held this office until 1996, when Karl Hillenbrand succeeded him.
