Herman Ferdinandus Maria Münninghoff

Herman Ferdinandus Maria Münninghoff OFM (born November 30, 1921 in Woerden ; † February 7, 2018 in Wijchen ) was a Dutch religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Jayapura (Indonesia).

Life

Herman Ferdinandus Maria Münninghoff joined the Congregation of the Franciscan at and received on 15 March 1953, the priestly ordination .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on May 6, 1972 Bishop of Jayapura , which is in the Indonesian part of New Guinea . The Archbishop of Semarang Justinus Cardinal Darmojuwono donated him episcopal ordination on September 10th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Herman Tillemans MSC , Archbishop of Merauke , and Alphonsus Augustus Sowada OSC , Bishop of Agats .

On August 29, 1997, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation. Münninghoff died in February 2018 of complications from cancer.
