On September 9, 1663 he had Magdalena Gesenius (born January 22, 1644 in Hanover; † May 20, 1677 in Osnabrück), the youngest daughter of the princely Brunswick-Lüneburg court preacher Dr. Justus Gesenius and his wife Margaretha Susanna Kaufmann. The marriage resulted in five daughters and one son, of which only four daughters and one son survived the father. From the children we know: Margaretha Magdalena Barckhaus (born July 25, 1666 in Osnabrück; † June 8, 1699 in Hanover), married.
