Hermann Engler

Hermann Theodor Otto Engler (born August 25, 1821 in Leitersdorf, district of Crossen ; † May 6, 1896 in Berent (West Prussia) ) was a German lawyer , district administrator in the district of Berent (West Pr.) And honorary citizen of Berent, member of the provincial parliament of the province Prussia and the Prussian House of Representatives .

Life

Engler was born in 1821 as the son of a magistrate and, after attending grammar school in Konitz, studied law in Breslau , Bonn and Berlin . In 1843 he became a member of the Raczek Breslau fraternity and in 1844 a member of the Fridericia Bonn fraternity . After completing his studies, he became an auscultator at the Berlin City Court, in 1846 trainee lawyer at the Higher Regional Court in Köslin , and in 1850 a public prosecutor's assistant in the district courts of Bütow and Lauenburg i. Pom. In 1853 he became public prosecutor and in 1854 district administrator in Berent. In 1861 he became a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Prussia . There he campaigned among other things for the creation of an independent province of West Prussia and prevented the division of the Berent district. In 1879 he became a Privy Councilor and honorary citizen of the city of Berent. From 1880 to 1896 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the constituency administrative district Danzig 4 (Berent / Preußisch Stargard - Dirschau ) as a member of the Free Conservative Party .
