Hermann Fecht

Hermann Fecht (born May 20, 1880 in Bretten , † February 4, 1952 in Baden-Baden ) was a German lawyer , administrative officer and politician ( BCSV , CDU ).

Life and work

After graduation in the high school High Baden Baden-Baden fencing took a degree in law in Heidelberg , Berlin and Strasbourg in which he in 1902 with the first state examination and the graduation to the Dr. jur. and finished with the second state examination in law in 1906. He then entered the administrative service in Baden and worked in the Baden Ministry of the Interior from 1906 to 1918. During his studies in Heidelberg, Fecht became a member of the Rupertia zu Heidelberg association .

As a Ministerialrat, Fecht had been Deputy Federal Councilor since 1918. In 1919 he became representative of Baden's Reichsrat in Berlin, was appointed Ministerial Director in 1927 and was head of the Baden representation to the Reich from 1931 to 1933 . After the National Socialists came to power, he was retired. During the Second World War he worked in the Baden Ministry of Finance and Economics. In 1944/45 he was an honorary administrator of the Baden-Baden Police Department.

Political party

After the Second World War, Fecht joined the BCSV, which later became part of the CDU.

MP

Fecht was a member of the council of the city of Baden-Baden from 1946 to 1948 and belonged to the Advisory State Assembly of the State of Baden in 1946 and to the Baden State Parliament from 1947 to January 1952 . In 1948/49 he was a member of the Parliamentary Council .

Public offices

On January 23, 1948, Fecht was appointed to the state government led by President Leo Wohleb as Baden's Minister of Justice and took part in the constitutional convention on Herrenchiemsee . On February 22, 1949, he was also appointed Deputy President. He remained in both offices until his death.
