Hermann Kraus

Hermann Max Hubert Kraus (born May 12, 1888 in Kempten (Allgäu) , † September 9, 1941 in Eppstein ) was a German politician .

Life

Born in Kempten as the son of a building supervisor, building officer and board member of the road and land construction department, Kraus attended the Progymnasium in Oettingen in Bavaria and the Humanist Gymnasium Weiden before studying law in Erlangen , Berlin and Kiel . During his studies in 1907 he became a member of the Germania Erlangen fraternity . In 1911 he took his exams in Erlangen. He became a legal intern at the Weiden District Court and the Munich Regional Court . This was followed by internships at the district office, in the city council and with a lawyer until 1914 . He took part in the First World War as a war volunteer from 1914 to 1918, first with the Royal Bavarian 1st Field Artillery Regiment "Prince Regent Luitpold" , then with the Bavarian Replacement Field Artillery Regiment 2 as a directional cannoner fighting in Alsace , Romania and France . In 1917, he was a reserve lieutenant to Douaumont in Verdun wounded. In 1918 he was taken prisoner by the English, from which he was released in 1919. In 1920 he passed his legal state examination (state bankruptcy) and became an accessist with the government of Upper Bavaria . In 1920 he became district administrator at the Neustadt an der Aisch district office , in 1933 a member of the government and in 1935 a district administrator or district administrator of the Ochsenfurt district office . In 1936 he became a member of the NSDAP , but was on the verge of death due to his criticism of Hitler's policies before his dismissal as district administrator.
