Hermann Lersner

Hermann Lersner (also Herrmann Lersner ; born October 18, 1535 in Marburg , † October 13, 1613 in Lengsfeld ) was a German law scholar and university professor .

Life

Lersner comes from the later noble family Lersner and was the son of the Hessian chancellor Heinrich Lersner . His father's brothers were the lawyers Christoph , Jakob and Johann Lersner . He studied at the University of Marburg and was awarded a Dr. iur. PhD . In 1564 he received a professorship in law at the university . On January 29, 1569 appointed him Landgrave Ludwig the Elder for advice and servants from home . From 1575 to 1577, 1584/85 and 1588/89 he was rector of the university and from 1579 to 1605 he was vice chancellor there . Shortly before he left the office of Vice Chancellor, he resigned from his professorship.

In 1594 Lersner was court judge at the court in Marburg and in 1594, 1597, 1599 and 1603 state parliament deputy at the states of the Landgraviate of Hesse .

family

In 1566 Lersner married into the Frankfurt patrician family Rauscher, which also included membership in the patrician society of Alten Limpurg . With this, Lersner founded the Frankfurt patrician family of the same name .

Among his sons-in-law was the professor of law and mathematics Johann Kitzel , his sons the Chancellor of Hersfeld Abbey and Hessian Councilor Heinrich Lersner (1573–1636), who married a daughter of the Hessian Chancellor Reinhard Scheffer the Elder .
