Johann Hermann Kitzel (also Johannes (Hermannus) Kitzelius ; born February 10, 1574 in Eppstein ; † August 30, 1627 in Gießen ) was a German lawyer , mathematician and university professor .

Life

Kitzel probably studied mathematics and law at the University of Marburg . On March 31, 1593 he obtained the Baccalaureus there , and in 1596 the master's degree . In 1598 he appeared as a teacher at the pedagogy in Marburg, and in 1601 as an attorney at court. He then worked at the Imperial Court of Justice in Speyer .

In 1605 Kitzel received a call as a full professor of law and mathematics at the University of Giessen . On August 22, 1614 took place there his doctorate to Dr. iur. On June 20, 1618 he became vice chancellor of the university. From 1625 until his death he was a full professor at the University of Marburg.

Hermann Lersner , professor and rector of the University of Marburg was his father-in-law .
