Hermann Schreck

Hermann Friedrich Theodor Schreck (born June 28, 1817 in Belgern ; † November 30, 1891 ) was a German lawyer and liberal politician ( German Progressive Party ).

Life and work

The son of the town clerk Johann Christian Gottlob Schreck (1749-1825) in Belgern attended the Kreuzgymnasium in Dresden . Subsequently, he studied from 1836 to 1839 at the University of Leipzig law . From 1842 to 1851 he was in front of the Wellerswalde Patrimonial Court . At the same time, he settled as a lawyer in Strehla in 1845 , but moved to Pirna as such in 1849 . There he was also approved as a notary . He was a deputy member of the Dresden Bar Association, where he moved in 1881 and again worked as a lawyer and notary.

He was also involved as a member of the supervisory board of the Saxon Iron Industry Society in Pirna and of the Dresden construction company, which was founded for the exploitation of the Elbe bank facilities that had become attractive through the Elbe correctional structures.

Schreck belonged to the German Progressive Party and in August 1866 took part in the first state assembly of the liberal-national party of Saxony. From 1863 to 1869 he was a representative of the 6th urban constituency and then, after the 1868 reform of the electoral law, from 1869 until his death as a representative of the 4th urban constituency of the Second Chamber of the Saxon State Parliament . In addition, he was from August 1867 until his resignation on February 12, 1869 the Reichstag of the North German Confederation . Arthur Eysoldt was named his successor in a by-election .
