The manor house Kehnert , also called Schulenburgscher Hof , Rittergut Kehnert or Schloss Kehnert , is a listed building in the village of Kehnert , a district of the town of Tangerhütte in the district of Stendal in Saxony-Anhalt . The manor house is listed in the local monument register under registration number 094 18477 as a monument .

General

The manor house is on Schlossstrasse in the southwestern part of the village. The Elbe flows past south of the property . In addition to the mansion, there are still remnants of a standing also listed Wallburg in Kehnert are obtained from the still Wall- and grave remains.

history

The mansion was built from 1802 to 1803 for the Prussian Minister of State, Count Friedrich Wilhelm von der Schulenburg-Kehnert, on a hill in front of the Elbe meadows. The architect was probably Carl Gotthard Langhans . Princess Caroline Friedrique von Hatzfeld inherited the property in 1815 after the death of Count Friedrich Wilhelm von der Schulenburg-Kehnert. In 1827 the mansion was acquired by Johann Friedrich Ferdinand Schumann, who ran a porcelain factory on the site , which he moved to Berlin-Moabit in 1834 . Hermann Walter Schaefer-Kehnert bought the property in 1913 and expanded it into a farm. He was expropriated during the land reform in the Soviet occupation zone in 1945 . After that the house was used as a special home ( Thomas Müntzer special children's home ) or as a dormitory for workers from Vietnam and Mozambique. In 2015 the mansion was privately owned.

The mansion is a two-storey, nine-axis classical plastered building. The house was heavily reshaped through various renovations. A round arch niche flanked by Ionic columns is located in the central portal on the courtyard side. A mythological relief has been preserved on the lintel . A semi-circular open staircase from 1913 is located on the garden side in the columned central projection. Inside the manor house there is a circular hallway with a surrounding gallery on eight Ionic columns.

Farm buildings from the 19th and 20th centuries also belong to the property. The property is surrounded by a brick wall with two gates. One of the gateways bears a coat of arms of the von Arnstedt family with the designation 1782.
