Hessenstein (municipality)

Hessenstein was a short-lived community in the Hessian district of Frankenberg . It existed from January 1972 to December 1973. Since then, its former area has belonged to the municipality of Vöhl in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district .

history

On December 31, 1971, the previously independent communities of Buchenberg , Ederbringhausen , Harbshausen , Kirchlotheim , Niederorke , Oberorke and Schmittlotheim were dissolved and incorporated into the new community of Hessenstein.

On January 1, 1974, the municipality of Hessenstein was merged by state law with Ittertal (consisting of the former municipalities of Dorfitter , Herzhausen and Thalitter ), Marienhagen , Obernburg and Vöhl to form the new larger municipality of Vöhl. Local districts were established for all formerly independent communities .
