Location of Harbshausen in Vöhl

Harbshausen is a small district of the municipality of Vöhl in the northern Hessian district of Waldeck-Frankenberg , which borders directly on the Kellerwald National Park and is located directly on the banks of the Edersee .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1245. This mention is based on the sale of a mill by Ludwig von Vöhl and his brothers to the Haina monastery . However, the place is probably much older. The construction of a half-timbered chapel is recorded for 1570 . Due to dilapidation, it was completely rebuilt in 1720 and 1721.

On December 31, 1971, in the course of the regional reform in Hesse, the previously independent communities Harbshausen, Buchenberg , Ederbringhausen , Kirchlotheim , Niederorke , Oberorke and Schmittlotheim were dissolved and incorporated into the new community Hessenstein.

On 1 January 1974, the municipality Hessenstein was powerful state law with Ittertal (consisting of the former municipalities Dorfitter , Herzhausen and Thalitter ), Marie Hagen , Obernburg and Vohl for new large village Vöhl together . Local districts were established for all formerly independent communities .
