Today Xpress is a cross-media news format that is distributed several times a day on ZDF , ZDFinfo , on the Internet , via social media and in ZDFtext .
The cross-media broadcast short messages with a length of around two and a half minutes can be seen online and on television.
The news broadcast, which is up to five minutes long in exceptional cases, has been replacing the previously different today short formats since July 4, 2015 : the heute news in the ZDF morning magazine and ZDF midday magazine , today at 9 a.m. and today at 3 p.m. on workdays and in the morning , lunchtime and late evenings on weekends. Today 100sec on ZDFinfo was replaced on 3rd July 2015 by heute Xpress .

- When the ZDF produces the morning magazine every half hour between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.

Online editions
One to two minute news overviews are offered online on zdf.de, heute.de and in the ZDFheute app, but also from third-party providers such as faz.net and zeit.de.
