Hieronymus Herculanus Bumbun OFMCap (born August 5, 1937 in Menawai ) is an Indonesian clergyman and retired Archbishop of Pontianak .

Life

Hieronymus Herculanus Bumbun joined the order of the Capuchins and was ordained a priest on July 27, 1967 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on December 19, 1975 auxiliary bishop in Pontianak and titular bishop of Capra . The Archbishop of Semarang , Justinus Cardinal Darmojuwono , donated him episcopal ordination on May 27 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Gabriel W. Sillekens CP , Bishop of Ketapang , and Alfred Gonti Pius Datubara OFMCap, Auxiliary Bishop in Medan .

On February 26, 1977 he was appointed Archbishop of Pontianak. Pope John Paul II appointed him Apostolic Administrator of Sanggau in 1982 and resigned from this office in 1990.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on June 3, 2014.
