Niels Korte (born September 22, 1969 in Arnsberg ) is a German lawyer , management consultant and politician ( CDU ). Since 2004 he has been honorary professor at the Alice Salomon University in Berlin . Korte was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives from 2011 to 2016 .

Life and work

After high school in 1989 made in Arnsberg Korte 1989-1991 military service and attended from 1990 as a reserve officer cadet the military school of the Air Force (OSLw) in Fuerstenfeldbruck. After military exercises, also abroad, he was promoted to colonel of the reserve in 2017.

Subsequently, he studied from 1991 to 1994 jurisprudence at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn. After graduating in 1995, he was a trainee lawyer in Cologne from 1995 to 1998. In 1998 he passed the second state examination. His doctorate with Michael Kloepfer as Dr. jur. Korte wrote from 2001 to 2003 at the Humboldt University of Berlin on an administrative law topic ( legal protection against normative announcements ).

As a freelance management consultant at Kienbaum Consultants International in Düsseldorf, where he was a junior and senior consultant from 1995 to 1998, he worked on consulting projects for the public sector between 1996 and 1998. Since 1998 he has been working as a freelance lawyer specializing in administrative law and is a senior partner of the law firm Korte Rechtsanwälte with 20 employees in Berlin.

From 2001 Niels Korte taught as a lecturer at the Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences for Social Work and Social Pedagogy in Berlin , and since 2004 as an honorary professor . There he built up the subject of business start-ups / entrepreneurship.

Political party

Since 1986 Niels Korte has been a member of the CDU, where he belongs to the Christian Democratic Workers' Association (CDA) and the SME and Business Association (MIT). He is an assessor in the regional executive committee of the CDU Berlin , district treasurer of the CDU Treptow-Köpenick and chairman of the CDU local association Berlin-Adlershof.

From 1991 to 1996 he worked first as a student and later as a research assistant in the Bundestag office of Parliamentary State Secretary Bernd Wilz in the Federal Ministry of Defense . In the Bundestag elections in 2005, 2009 and 2017, Niels Korte ran as a direct candidate for the CDU in the Bundestag constituency of Berlin-Treptow - Köpenick (constituency 85).

MP

From September 18, 2011 he was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives . He was elected from the district list of the constituency Treptow-Köpenick 5 . In the House of Representatives, he was a member of the main committee as well as the committee on work, integration, vocational training and women. Niels Korte was labor market policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group. He also headed Working Group II (Labor, Integration, Women, Health and Social Affairs) of the CDU parliamentary group and was a member of the parliamentary group's executive committee. At the coalition negotiations of the Berlin grand coalition, he was a member of the “Labor and Social Affairs” working group and was responsible for labor market policy for the CDU. At the small state party conference of the Berlin CDU on September 30, 2010, Niels Korte presented the party's labor market policy program “Berlin in Work”, which was unanimously approved. In its essential points, this culminated in the “BerlinArbeit” framework labor market program of the grand coalition.

Niels Korte did not run for the House of Representatives election on September 18, 2016.

Niels Korte lives with his wife and their two children in Berlin-Friedrichshagen , in the Treptow-Köpenick district.
