Bernd Wilz (born December 13, 1942 in Meerane ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

From 1992 to 1998 he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister of Defense .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1963, Wilz did his military service with the Armored Artillery Training Battalion 51 Idar-Oberstein until 1965 and also completed training as a reserve officer (last rank: Colonel d. R.). He then completed a law degree in Münster and Cologne , which he completed in 1970 with the first state examination in law. After his legal clerkship , he passed the second state examination in 1974 and has since been admitted to the bar. Wilz has been a member of the CDU since 1965. From 1974 to 1983 he was chairman of the CDU district association in Solingen (since 1998 honorary chairman) and from 1987 to 1999 also deputy chairman of the CDU district association Bergisches Land . From 1980 to 1987 Wilz was deputy state chairman of the East and Central German Association (OMV) of the CDU Rhineland, from 1985 to 1991 a member of the OMV federal executive board and from 1989 to 1991 deputy national chairman of OMV. From 1976 to 1990 he was also a member of the state board of the Evangelical Working Group of the CDU in North Rhine-Westphalia .

From 1979 to 1983 Wilz was a member of the city council of Solingen and from 1975 to 1983 was also a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

From 1983 to 1998 and was a member of the German Bundestag . From 1989 to 1992 he was chairman of the defense working group of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group .
