Hieronymus Müller von Berneck

Hieronymus Müller von Berneck (born March 16, 1598 in Breitenhof ; † June 26, 1669 ibid) was a German hammer and mountain lord of Breitenhof in the western Ore Mountains .

Life

Müller von Berneck was the son of Johannes (Hans) Müller (1560-1618) and his wife Ursula Krumbholtz. His grandfather Christoph Müller von Berneck (1535–1595) from Bohemia was initially an ore trader, city judge and imperial ore purchase accountant in Sankt Joachimsthal and later became the owner of a hammer mill in Breitenhof near Breitenbrunn. His descendants were counted among the nobility in Saxony only since the 18th century and bore the name of Müller-Berneck .

Hieronymus leased the Pöckelhammer in Mittweida in 1625 and the Auerhammer near Aue in 1629 , whose looting and destruction in the Thirty Years' War threatened his existence. In 1632 he took over the lease of the hammer in Wildenthal and finally took over his father’s hammer mill in Breitenhof, to which several ore mines belonged.

He was buried four days after his death on June 30, 1669 in the Christophorus Church in Breitenbrunn. The funeral sermon written by Johann David Köhler's grandfather appeared in print in Zwickau . The abdication speech was given by Johann Meißner from Schneeberg, who was then a deacon in Johanngeorgenstadt .

Müller von Berneck was last with Anna Maria geb. Rudolff married. The following daughters survived him:

  • Anna, wife of the electoral forester George Günther zu Schneeberg,
  • Susanna, wife of Hammerherr Hans Heinrich von Elterlein ,
  • Regina, widow of Joseph Petzolt,
  • Catharina, wife of Friedrich Mey, citizen and butcher,
  • Esther and Anna Rosina, still unmarried at the time of their father's death,

and the three sons:

  • Johann Friedrich, student at Strasbourg ,
  • Johann Ernst, mountain lord,
  • Johann Gottfried, hammer master.
