Hilarin fields

Hilarin Felder (* July 20, 1867 in Eich as Josef Felder; † November 27, 1951 in Freiburg , legal resident in Flühli ) was a Swiss Catholic theologian and Capuchin priest .

Life

Hilarin Felder was born on July 20, 1867 in Eich as the son of the cheese maker Jakob Felder and Maria Josefa born Weibel. Felder joined the Capuchin Order in Lucerne in 1886 . In 1890 he was ordained a priest . As a result, Felder worked as a theology lecturer . In 1898 he obtained his doctorate in theology at the University of Freiburg . There he also taught as a professor of theology.

Hilarin Felder was involved in the re-establishment of the nunciature in Switzerland. In 1938 he was appointed titular bishop of Geras . As Apostolic Visitator of Popes Pius XI. and Pius XII. Hilarin Felder was entrusted with difficult tasks in several orders and seminaries . Felder died on November 27, 1951 at the age of 84 in Freiburg.

Hilarin Felder made a name for himself as an interdisciplinary humanities scholar whose numerous publications in the field of apologetics , Christology and Franciscan history were widely recognized.
