Southern Africa Aid Committee

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The relief committee Southern Africa e. V. is a registered association based in Coburg . Its aim is to maintain German influence in the former German protected areas and settlement areas known as colonies in southern Africa ( Angola , Zimbabwe , Namibia and South Africa ). The chairman of the association is Hartmut Fröschle .

aims

According to its own information, the association aims “ to promote people and their nationality in southern Africa, especially those who are persecuted for political or racial reasons, or who have been expropriated and expelled, as well as educating the public about what is happening in this area. “The association was founded in 1976 by NPD functionary Peter Dehoust in Coburg after German farmers were expropriated by independence movements in Angola. The farmers criticized that they had not received any official German support. In 1976, 1977 and 1978 the group was listed as a right-wing extremist organization in the reports for the protection of the constitution . Later there were occasional such mentions in various state reports (as in 1996 in the report of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia ).

The oldest series of events is the South Africa seminar, which took place in Coburg for the 30th time in 2009. On 17./18. In October 2009, right-wing extremist publicist Claus Nordbruch, who lives in South Africa, also gave a speech there.

Positions

The association calls the battle of the Waterberg , in which German troops bloodily suppressed the Herero uprising, as the “Waterberg Lie”. The official historiography falsifies the facts and assigns too great a degree of guilt to the Germans for the genocide of the Herero .

The HSA supports apartheid policy as it existed until the 1980s, and regrets that the countries of southern Africa “gradually fell under new rule” in the 1970s.

Twice a year the group publishes a circular to the friends of the HSA, in which there are reports on the current work of the association and advertising for the association's private school projects in Africa. Members published reports in the former monthly Nation und Europa, which the constitution protection authorities classified as right-wing extremists .

Cooperations

The association maintains good connections to the traditional association of former protection and overseas troops , which was founded as the umbrella organization of the comradeships of the imperial protection forces . In 1983 the name of the “Traditionsverband” was added to “Friends of the former German protected areas”. The two associations work together to promote schools for Africans of German origin. The HSA supports private schools in Namibia , where children of Germans in purely German classes and the like. a. learn the German language . The schools are located in Grootfontein , Otavi , Otjiwarongo , Omaruru and Swakopmund . Since Namibia's independence, the official language of English has been taught in state schools. Additional languages are taught when a class size is reached. The Federal Republic only financially supports mixed schools with Namibian and German-born children, which these private schools reject.

In December 2006 a group of the “Thuringia Braunschweig” fraternity traveled through Namibia for four weeks at the invitation of an old man and his wife. There they handed over donations from the association and the HSA to various German schools.

Cooperations through double membership exist, for example, through Rolf Sauerzapf ( retired church councilor , military pastor ), who is also a member of the Evangelical Emergency Community in Germany .
