The Hindenburg barracks in Munster ( Luneburg Heath ) is a property of the Bundeswehr , in the Artillery Demonstration Battalion 325 (ArtLehrBtl 325) and the Mechanized Infantry Battalion 92 teaching their locations have.

The barracks are located in the west of Munster between Bundesstrasse 71 in the north and the Schulz-Lutz barracks in the south. To the west is the Munster Süd military training area and to the east is the center of Munster.

history

The barracks is named after the Reich President Paul von Hindenburg , who in 1893 as a colonel (other sources: Lieutenant Colonel ) was the first commander of a unit , the 91st infantry regiment from Oldenburg, which was relocated to Munster. Munster has been a garrison since then . The barracks used to be called the “main camp”.
