Hintelmann Science Prize for Zoological Systematics

The RJH Hintelmann Science Prize for Zoological Systematics is a prize for young scientists with special achievements in zoological systematics.

The support company of the Zoological State Collection Munich , the "Friends of the Zoological State Collection Munich eV" has been awarding the RJH Hintelmann Science Prize for Zoological Systematics for outstanding achievements in the field of zoological systematics, phylogenetics , faunistics and biogeography since 2000 . The laureate will be supported in his / her scientific work and his / her cooperation with the Zoological State Collection will be promoted.

The award supports young zoologists who do not yet have a permanent position. The prize is advertised internationally every year and is awarded at the beginning of the year. The prize is endowed with EUR 5,000 (as of 2020), which Elisabeth Hintelmann donates in memory of her husband Robert JH Hintelmann.
