Hiroshi Hase ( Japanese 馳 浩 , Hase Hiroshi ; born May 5, 1961 in Oyabe , Toyama Prefecture ) is a Japanese politician, former wrestler and professional wrestler, member of the House of Representatives for the 1st constituency of Ishikawa and was a cultist from 2015 to 2016 and science minister in the third cabinet Abe .

Education and sports career

Hase, who grew up in Kanazawa from the third year of elementary school , later attended the private Seiryo high school in Kanazawa and began wrestling there. He graduated from Senshū University in 1984 and became a Japanese teacher at Seiryō High School.

Wrestling

In 1984 Hiroshi Hase was a participant in the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in Greco-Roman light heavyweight wrestling . He lost to Jean-François Court in his first fight 4-0 and the later silver medalist Ilie Matei 13-0 and was eliminated from the tournament.

After losing at the Olympics, Hiroshi Hase switched to wrestling . After his training in NJPW - Dojo he first started as a protege of Riki Choshu . He then went to Peru . There he made his debut for Carlos Colón Sr.s and Victor Jovica's World Wrestling Council in a fight against Miguel Pérez . He also wrestled for Stu Hart's Stampede Wrestling in Calgary , Canada , where he was allowed to hold the tag team title together with Funmihiro Niikura . In 1987 he returned to Japan, where he was a member of New Japan Pro Wrestling from 1987 to 1996 . He was allowed to win the International Wrestling Grand Prix Junior Heavyweight Championship in 1988 and 1989 and the IWGP tag team titles four times. He was also one of eight winners of the WCW International World Heavyweight Championship , which resulted from a collaboration between World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and NJPW. He was the only Japanese wrestler who was allowed to hold the title. Other titleholders were Rick Rude , Sting and Ric Flair .

In 1990 he had a near death experience after he lost consciousness after an action in the ring and had to receive emergency care.

During his career as a politician, he remained active as a wrestler. He did have a "retirement match" against Kensuke Sasaki . But instead of putting his career on hold, he switched to his big rival All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) after he noticed how a student at NJPW died after a failed maneuver and this was tried to cover up by the PhD management. Due to his political career, he wrestled only irregularly. His final last match he had on August 27, 2006 at an event by AJPW, at which he was adopted by the Japanese Prime Minister Yoshirō Mori . In 2006 he was inducted into the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame . From July 2007 to 2013 he was the third chairman of the Pro Wrestling Federation (PWF).

He is considered to be the inventor of the Northern Lights Suplex , which was also his finishing move.
