history

The clinic was opened in 1988 as the AMI Clinic.

At the beginning the staff consisted of 80 people. On the opening day, a girl and a boy were born in the clinic. In 1990 the clinic was taken over by the Hirslanden Private Hospital Group . In 1992 the physiotherapy department became a recognized training position for interns at the school for physiotherapy in Schinznach-Bad and Aarau. In 1994 the clinic became a training hospital for the TOA School Aarau and the nursing schools in Brugg and Aarau. In 1995, a contract for the training of medical-technical laboratory assistants was signed with the Inselspital Bern . In 1996 a heart emergency service was set up which is available to all patients (including those with basic insurance) 24 hours a day.

In 1999, the service contract for radio frequency ablation between the Canton of Aargau and the Im Schachen Clinic came. The treatment can therefore be used by all patients. In 2001 the single brand strategy was replaced by the uniform umbrella brand Hirslanden. The clinics now have a uniform logo, and the clinic has been renamed Hirslanden Klinik Im Schachen . In 2003, the name was changed again to Hirslanden Klinik Aarau . In 2004, the training contract for the new occupational profile of specialist health workers (FAGE) followed, and two years later a two-year additional training in surgical nursing was introduced, making this the only such hospital in the canton of Aargau.
