Hispasat
Hispasat is a Spanish operator of communications satellites for radio and television programs, as well as telecommunications and multimedia services. The Madrid- based company was founded in 1989. In 1992 the first satellite, the Hispasat 1A, was launched . In 1996 the previously state-owned company was privatized. The current shareholders are Red Eléctrica (89.68%), SEPI (7.41%) and CDTI (2.91%). Hispasat is the world's seventh largest satellite operator in terms of revenue and the leading provider of content broadcast in Spanish and Portuguese .
