Hjalmar Stemmann

Hjalmar Stemmann (born October 26, 1963 in Hamburg ) is a German entrepreneur and politician ( CDU ).

Life

After graduating from high school, Hjalmar Stemmann completed an apprenticeship as a dental technician , which he completed in 1985 with the journeyman's examination. From 1987 to 1993 he studied economics at the Philipps University of Marburg . In 1996, he and his father Hartmut Stemmann founded a company for dental medical products in Hamburg, of which he is still managing director . Hjalmar Stemmann is married and has two children.

politics

Hjalmar Stemmann has been a member of the Hamburg Parliament since the 2008 general election . There he represented his group in the Health Committee and in the Committee on Economy, Innovation and the Media. He is also a deputy member of the Committee for Social Affairs, Labor and Integration. In May 2008, Hjalmar Stemmann became the first specialist spokesperson for health economics in a German state parliament . In the state elections in Hamburg in 2011 , he was re-elected to the state via the state list. Since then he has been chairman for health of the CDU citizenship group and specialist spokesman for craft and medium- sized businesses . He is a co-opted member of the state board of the CDU Hamburg and at the municipal level a member of the district board of the CDU Eimsbüttel and on the board of the CDU local association 33 Lokstedt / Niendorf / Schnelsen . In the 2015 state election, Stemmann ran for position 16 on the state list, but lost his mandate.

Other offices

From 2010 to 2019, Hjalmar Stemmann was the state chairman of the Hamburg Mittelstands- und Wirtschaftsunion der CDU (MIT). In this role, he spoke out in favor of strict austerity measures in Hamburg. Before that, he had been state treasurer since 2005 . At the federal level he is a member of the health policy commission of MIT Germany.

Hjalmar Stemmann is a member of the general assembly of the Hamburg Chamber of Crafts. and since April 2011 Vice President of the Hamburg Chamber of Crafts . He was also district master craftsman for Hamburg-Eimsbüttel until 2018 . At the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce , he is a member of the Health Management and Industry and Environment committees. In addition, he is u. a. Member of the administrative board and the large approval committee of the Hamburg guarantee association . In the new elections in the Hamburg Chamber of Crafts on May 23, 2019, Hjalmar Stemmann was elected as the new chamber president.
