The parish village of Hochstahl is part of the municipality of Aufseß in Upper Franconia .
geography
Hochstahl is located about three kilometers east of Aufseß and is at an altitude of 439 meters.
history
As a result of the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , the place became an independent rural municipality to which the villages of Dörnhof , Kobelsberg , Tiefenlesau and Zochenreuth also belonged. In the course of the communal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s , the municipality of Hochstahl was then almost completely incorporated into Aufseß, only the village of Tiefenlesau, located about two kilometers north of Hochstahl, was converted to the town of Hollfeld . In 1987 Hochstahl had 162 inhabitants.
Attractions
The Catholic parish church in Hochstahl is a listed building. It has a hall with furnishings from the 18th and 19th centuries. The neighboring rectory, a two-story hipped roof building from the 18th century, is also a listed building.

The state road 2188 connects Hochstahl mainly to the public road network, it runs through the place coming from Aufseß in the west in an easterly direction to Plankenfels .
