The Hochwang with 2533  m above sea level. M. is a mountain in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland .

location

The Hochwang in the plural Alps is at 2533 m the highest elevation of the Hochwang chain named after it . It is located 5 km north of Pagig im Schanfigg and 6 km south of Hinterberg near Furna in Prättigau . Because of the surrounding satellites, there are hardly any views down into the valleys. But the panorama is impressive. Three ridges and three flanks form the Hochwang. The ridges, the south and east flanks are easy to walk. This is also where the routes lead to the summit . The northwest flank consists of steep loose rocks, ribbons and runs. They are very seldom committed.

On the higher south summit 2532.6 m there is a stone man with a summit book . 170 m north of it is the north summit (2523 m) which is rarely visited.

Ascent

  • from Pagig or St. Peter, via Triemel through the Pagiger Bleis
  • from the Lüner ridge, over the southwest ridge
  • from Valzeina, through the northern flank
  • from the Rothorn, over the north ridge
  • from Ratoser Stein , over the southeast ridge

Accessible to tourists from the Schanfigger side via a chair lift (from Fatschel to Triemel) and through the Schanfigger Höhenweg .

Adjacent peaks

Furna Rothorn 2363 m, Ratoser Stein 2473 m, Tüfelsch Chopf 2480 m.
