The house at Hohe Straße 22 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located in the urban area west of the Quedlinburg market square and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . It is registered as a residential building in the Quedlinburg monument register.

Architecture and history

The three-storey half - timbered house was built in 1661 by Andreas Schröder . The inscription ANDREAS SCHRODER refers to him . The building has a mezzanine floor . The decorative elements on the sill beams are typical of the construction period. The facade of the house was rebuilt in the 18th or 19th century.

Originally the building was the southern part of a semi-detached house. The northern part, Hohe Straße 23, has not been preserved. In the years 1999/2000 the house, which was preserved but in need of major renovation, was rebuilt and renovated at Hohe Straße 22. At the same time, the property at Hohe Straße 23 was rebuilt in massive construction, with the new building taking up the proportions of the existing building. The client was Gerdes Wohnprojekt GmbH . The planning was carried out by Hahne + Saar Architekten GmbH from Wernigerode . A total of 270 m² of living space and 115 m² of commercial space were created. The construction costs amounted to 750,000 DM. The current owner is the Gerhardt / Zeiten GbR, based in Göttingen
