The house Hohe Straße 6 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

It is located in the urban area west of the Quedlinburg market square on the east side of the Hohe Strasse, the street of which protrudes at this point. The house is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is listed as a residential building in the Quedlinburg monument register. To the north is the also listed building Hohe Straße 5 , to the south is the house Hohe Straße 7 .

Architecture and history

The three-story building was erected in 1704. The street-side facade was built in massive construction, other components in half-timbered construction. Presumably the building emerged from a Freihof . The building, built in the style of a baroque city ​​palace , has five axes in the main building, the middle axis being emphasized by the portal and wall template and three axes protruding strongly into the street. The windows are framed with drilled cast stone walls .

On the segment gable above the portal there is a heraldic cartouche of Sophia Johanna Angelica von Lüder , née Velhagen. On the side of the building there is a gate with an ox-eye above it.
