The house at Hohe Straße 21 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located in the urban area west of Quedlinburger Marktplatz at the southern end of Hohen Strasse and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . To the north is the also listed building at Hohe Straße 22 .

Architecture and history

The three-storey half - timbered house is entered in the Quedlinburg monument register as a merchant's farm. According to a building inscription, it was built in the early Baroque style in 1663 by the master carpenter Andreas Schröder . The inscription M. ANDREAS SCHRÖDER with a coat of arms refers to him . The main house is covered with a high hipped roof. The half-timbered facade of the building is designed in the style of the construction period and has profiled filler wood, rectangular box fields and compartments provided with decorative brickwork . The threshold is decorated with ship throats . The half-timbered facade has diamond crosses and profiled lugs . Half-man figures can be found on the corners of the building . A shop was installed around 1889. The front door also dates from this time.

To the south of the main house there is a wing that was built around 1720. The compartments of the wing are provided with decorative linings.
