Hohengüßbach is a district of the municipality of Breitengüßbach in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg and, together with Leimershof, has around 200 inhabitants.

The neighboring towns are in the northeast Sassendorf (Markt Zapfendorf ) and Leimershof (municipality Breitengüßbach), in the southeast Starkenschwind (city Scheßlitz ), in the south Merkendorf and Laubend (both municipality Memmelsdorf ), in the southwest Zückshut (municipality Breitengüßbach) and in the west Breitengüßbach itself and Unteroberndorf (Municipality of Breitengüßbach).

history

The still predominantly agricultural place formed its own municipality with Leimershof before it was incorporated into Breitengüßbach on a voluntary basis on January 1, 1972. The village church was built in the Baroque in 1715 and consecrated in 1721. It was expanded in 1950.
