The village of Unteroberndorf is part of the municipality of Breitengüßbach in the Bamberg district in Upper Franconia . About 680 people live in the village.

history

Unteroberndorf was first mentioned in a document in the oldest Bamberg bishop's surbar in 1323/28 as "Oberndorf". In 1521 the name Unteroberndorf was mentioned for the first time.

From 1954 to 1971/72 there was an own elementary school in Unteroberndorf.

On May 1, 1978 Unteroberndorf was incorporated into the municipality of Breitengüßbach.

location

Unteroberndorf is located in the north of the Bamberg district about one kilometer from the A73 Bamberg - Suhl . The Main flows a few kilometers west of the town .

In the course of the expansion of the Nuremberg – Ebensfeld line , a flyover structure was built near Unteroberndorf in 2016 , with which the track leading towards Leipzig will be guided over the existing line.

Transportation

There are two bus stops in Unteroberndorf. These are served by lines 953, 956, 957 and 960 in the transport association for Greater Nuremberg (VGN).
The Breitengüßbach station is located at the Bamberg-Hof railway in the neighboring Breitengüßbach, a good 20 minutes walk from Unteroberndorf.
