The Ulreichsberg is a mountain in the Lower Austrian Limestone Alps in the southern Mostviertel in Lower Austria , not far from the Styrian border. Its summit is called Hoher Ulreichsberg and reaches 1276 m above sea level. A. Height.
Location and landscape
The Ulreichsberg lies between Mariazell and St. Aegyd am Neuwalde . It is a wooded ridge and shows itself over the Hubertussee or from the Kernhofer Gscheid with its about 1180 m above sea level. A. high north shoulder.
To the south-east rises the Göller limestone ( 1766 m above sea level ), which is also included in the Mürzsteg Alps . The pre-alpine range of the Traisenberg ( 1230 m above sea level ) and northwest of the Sulzberg ( 1400 m above sea level ), with which the Ulreichsberg belongs to the Traisenberg – Sulzberg group, extends northeast . To the southwest lies the Schwarzkogel ( 1365 m above sea level ) and then the Mariazeller Bürgeralpe .
The Stock is bounded (clockwise from the north) Michelbühel ( 999 m above sea level ) - Salza near Tobiasl via Gscheid to Knollenhals -Krumbach (at 915 m above sea level ) - Krumbachsattel ( 951 m above sea level ) - Krumbach to Walstern (at 838 m above sea level ) - Rottenbach up to Ulreichsberg - Karnerbach - Michelbühel.
The Michelbühel is 1139 m above sea level. A. high north-western ridge shoulder, this is where the Salza , one of the most natural wild rivers in the Eastern Alps , rises . The Klauserkogel ( 1047 m above sea level ) lies in front of the Wallnerhöhe to the south- west . Its most south-westerly foot then already belongs to Styria.
The mountain is partly sparsely forested and gives good views of the Styrian-Lower Austrian Limestone Alps . It is seldom committed.
