Holger Edmaier
Holger Edmaier (born May 11, 1972 in Bremen ) is a German cabaret artist, composer, lyricist and presenter.
Life
Holger Edmaier grew up in Ganderkesee in Lower Saxony , graduated from high school there in 1992 and moved to Cologne that same year . There he studied sports science at the German Sport University Cologne . During his student days he worked as head coach of the German national team Torball Men in the blind sport and became European champion with the team in 1997.
In 1998 he founded the music-cabaret duo " Duotica " with Helena Marion Scholz , with whom he performed in German-speaking countries until 2006. In 2003 Duotica was awarded the special prize of the German Cabaret Prize. In 2004 he received the main prize of the Westspitzen with Duotica as well as the chanson prize.
Holger Edmaier has presented solo programs since 2006. On stage he accompanies himself on the piano , on the ukulele or sings to self-produced half playback. He describes the form of the programs as pop cabaret. In 2006 he was a scholarship holder and graduate of the copywriting seminar at the Celle School of the GEMA Foundation .
In 2013 the company moved to Stuttgart .
Edmaier has been leading the 100% MENSCH project since 2014 , which advocates complete equality and acceptance of sexual orientations and equality for all genders. The non-profit organization publishes a campaign song every year, composed by Edmaier, among others, and sung by various artists. In 2017 the art exhibition WE ARE P ART OF CULTURE was created, which is designed and curated by Edmaier.

In his songs and texts, Edmaier mostly deals with interpersonal issues such as love and relationships. But social and socially critical as well as political content are also part of his repertoire. The song compositions include new German chanson , jazz, pop, musical, electronic and classical elements. In addition to the stage, Holger Edmaier also composes for film and advertising.
