Holzheim (Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate)
Holzheim is a district and a district of the large district town of Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate . Until the municipal reform on July 1, 1972, the place was the administrative seat of the former municipality of Holzheim. The population is around 1700. The district is about 420 meters above sea level in the north of Neumarkt and is bordered by Altdorfer Strasse and the Maierbach, a tributary to the Schwarzach .
Two places belonged to the former community, the Kirchdorf Holzheim and the wasteland Großwiesenhof , both of which are now in the Holzheim district of the large district town of Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate. The area of the district of about 473 hectares is identical to the area of the former municipality.
Transport and infrastructure
In the district there are various shops and stores for daily needs. Holzheim is connected to the Berliner Ring bypass ( B 299 ) via Beckenhofer Weg . The bus line 562 connects the district with the city center and the train station .
Attractions
To the east is the Catholic Church of St. Walburga, a modern church building from the 1970s, which under canon law belongs to the parish of Pölling.
The Ludwig-Danube-Main Canal crosses Holzheim from north to south. In the south, the area of the State Garden Show 1998, today's LGS-Park, joins the district.
