Wood winds is a place near Linz in the Mühlviertel in Upper Austria as well as a place in the municipality of Steyregg in the Urfahr-Umgebung district .
The place is located northeast of Steyregg and can be reached from Donau Straße via a side street.
history
The earliest written document is from 1316 and is "Holtzwind". The name goes back to Old High German holt (forest) and winida (Wenden, Slavs) and denotes a forest in which Slavs live. The field name was transferred to the settlement.
