Homeboy - Original Score Performed by Eric Clapton is a soundtrack album by British rock musician Eric Clapton and was released in November 1988 on Virgin Records. Clapton put the songs together for the 1988 film Homeboy , mostly his own compositions.
Design and publication
The cover of the publication is framed in dark blue. In the middle of the cover is a picture of the screenwriter Mickey Rourke , which was taken after the end of a boxing sequence in the film. The names of the presenters, "Mickey Rourke" and "Eric Clapton", can be seen in a large label. The Soundtack album was re -released in 2009 , also on Virgin Records.
Criticism
The music critic William Ruhlmann of the website Allmusic believes that the soundtrack consists of "mostly bluesy instrumentals". Ruhlmann also notes that “Clapton's guitar solo in the song Dixie [a] strong resemblance to Jimi Hendrix's version of The Star-Spangled Banner ”. Regarding the musical performance, the critic notes that it is “naturally perfect”. However, Ruhlmann criticizes the fact that the release "as with most [soundtrack albums] is missing something if the images in the film cannot be seen". Finally, Ruhlmann awarded 3 of the 5 possible evaluation units for Homeboy - Original Score Performed by Eric Clapton . DVD Legion's critics find that the film's soundtrack "definitely stands out". They also find that the soundtrack is greats like Clapton and with his "gritty blues tracks emotionally charged".
