Homosexual acts are legal in Honduras . The age of consent is uniformly 16 years. There are no anti-discrimination laws protecting sexual orientation .

Recognition of same-sex couples

There is no recognition of same-sex marriages , and registered partnerships are not allowed. In 2005 a ban on same-sex marriage was passed in parliament.

Social situation

There is only a small LGBT community in the capital Tegucigalpa . The organizations Violet Collective , Gay Community and the Gay-Lesbian Group Honduras campaign for the rights of homosexual people in the country. After the 2009 military coup, there were several acts of violence against LGBT activists in Honduras.
