Land of Honey (Original title: Медена земја ; international title: Honey Country ) is a documentary from northern Macedonia by Ljubomir Stefanov and Tamara Kotevska from the year 2019 . The focus is on Hatidze Muratova, the last wild beekeeper in the country, whose nature-loving way of life is being put to the test in an abandoned mountain village. It is the feature film debut of Stefanov and Kotevska.
Land of Honey was premiered on January 28, 2019 as part of the 35th Sundance Film Festival, where the film was shown in the World Cinema Documentary Competition section and won the main prize there. Numerous other awards followed, including two Oscar nominations . The German theatrical release took place on November 21, 2019.

On the Rotten Tomatoes website , Land of Honey currently (as of January 2020) has a rating of 99 percent, based on 91 English-language reviews and an average rating of 8.37 out of 10 points. The bottom line is: “'Honeyland' uses life in a remote village to offer an insightful perspective on experiences that should also be of interest to the public halfway around the world”. On Metacritic , the film received a rating of 86 percent, based on 26 evaluated reviews.

In 2020, when the Oscar nominations were announced, Stefanov and Kotevska's directorial work was considered North Macedonia's contribution in the Best International Film and Best Documentary categories .
