Independent Spirit Awards 2020
The 35th ceremony of Independent Spirit Awards took place on February 8, 2020 on the beach in Santa Monica , California instead. The members of the non-profit organization Film Independent honored what they considered to be the best independent films of the 2019 cinema year .
The nominations were announced on November 21, 2019 by actresses Zazie Beetz and Natasha Lyonne . The award ceremony was broadcast on the US television station IFC .
