Independent Spirit Awards 2019

The 34th ceremony of Independent Spirit Awards took place on February 23, 2019 on the beach in Santa Monica , California instead. The members of the non-profit organization Film Independent honor what they consider to be the best independent films of the 2018 cinema year . The most successful film production with three prizes won was If Beale Street Could Talk by Barry Jenkins , which received awards for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Supporting Actress. The Spanish-language film Roma by Alfonso Cuarón , which has received several Oscar nominations , won the award for the best international film.
