Summary
Ang Lee's tragic love story Brokeback Mountain prevailed with two wins in the categories of Best Film and Director . The most successful film with three wins was Bennett Miller's drama Capote . In the other actor categories, Felicity Huffman ( Transamerica ) , Matt Dillon ( LA Crash ) and Amy Adams ( Junikäfer ) also won Oscar-nominated actors. The losers were George Clooney's media drama Good Night, and Good Luck. (only one award) and Noah Baumbach's tragicomedy The Squid and the Whale (The Squid and the Whale) and Tommy Lee Jones ' Western The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada : four nominations and no price. Fatih Akın could n't beat Hany Abu-Assad's controversial film Paradise Now with Gegen die Wand . Werner Herzog's documentary Grizzly Man was defeated by the Oscar-nominated Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room .
