Peter Saraf

Peter Saraf (* in the 20th century ) is an American film producer . He became internationally known for the production of the movies Ulee's Gold , The Truth About Charlie , Adaptation - The Orchid Thief , Little Miss Sunshine or Away We Go - Auf nach Irgendwo .

life and career

Peter Saraf is the son of the Oscar-winning Polish producer Irving Saraf who died in 2012 . Saraf began his career in the mid-1990s as a producer of short and documentary films. In 1997 he co-produced the movie Ulee's Gold with Peter Fonda . Saraf is mainly involved in smaller independent productions. In 2000, he co-produced Myles Connell's crime drama His Last Coup, starring Christopher Walken . At the 2007 Academy Awards , along with David T. Friendly and Marc Turtletaub, he received an Oscar nomination in the Best Picture category for the road movie by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris Little Miss Sunshine . In 2009 he produced the Sam Mendes film Away We Go - Auf nach Irgendwo with the cast of John Krasinski , Maya Rudolph and Allison Janney together with his colleagues Edward Saxon and Marc Turtletaub.

In 2004, he co-founded the film production company Big Beach with his partner Marc Turtletaub . Saraf lives and works in New York .

In addition, Peter Saraf is chairman of the Producers Guild of America East .
