The Hornberg is a 451 m high mountain in the Damshauser Kuppen in the German state of Hesse .
Location and surroundings
The mountain is located between Friedensdorf and Herzhausen in the center of the municipality of Dautphetal on the east bank of the Dautphe and belongs to the western part of the Dammhäuser Kuppen. Neighboring elevations are the Eichelhardt (465 m) in the east, the Schweinskopf (473 m) in the south-east and its 306 m high pre-summit Auf der Breitenlohe in the north .
The Hornberg is covered by mixed forest. Several forest roads and paths open up the area, one path leads from the west to immediately below the summit.
