Horst Heidrich (* February 7, 1920 in statutes ; † August 16, 1992 ) was general forest master and deputy minister for agriculture, forestry and food industry in the GDR .

Life

The son of a construction worker was trained as a forest worker at the Steinbach Forestry Office in the Ore Mountains between 1934 and 1939 . He became a forestry candidate and joined the NSDAP in 1939 . In 1940 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht and did military service until 1945, most recently as a non-commissioned officer .

After the war he joined the SPD ( member of the SED from 1946 through the forced unification of the SPD and KPD ). From 1946 to 1948 Heidrich attended the forestry college in Tharandt . In 1949 he passed the district forester examination and then worked as such and specialist teacher in Wermsdorf . In 1951 he moved to the Saxon Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in Dresden as a forest protection officer . In 1963 Heidrich became head of the main forestry administration, production management of the Agriculture Council and general forest manager. In 1972 he became Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Food industry. He held this position until his invalidity in 1975.
