Horst Müller (pedagogue)
Horst Müller (born February 21, 1929 in Kassel , Hesse ; † April 15, 2020 there ) was a German pedagogue, amateur play director , theater director and author .
Life
Müller grew up in Kassel until the city was largely destroyed in the bombing war in 1943. His father died as a soldier during World War II ; his sister was bombed in an air raid shelter. When bombed out, he and his mother found shelter in makeshift quarters.
In the post-war period, he and his classmates dealt intensively with the anti - Semitism shaped by Christianity , which was elevated to state doctrine during the National Socialist era. In the young people and the Hitler Youth , in schools and in society, the children were indoctrinated with it almost every day. This is a long-lasting fact that he also deals with in his late work published in 2016.
During his school days he made his first experiences with the school amateur play . Despite the exam preparations, his Abitur class rehearsed and performed the play Blut und Liebe by Martin Luserke for the graduation ceremony.
In 1948 he finished his school days with the school leaving certificate that he acquired in Hofgeismar . With regard to a career choice, he had initially considered studying chemistry because of his passionate school interest in chemical experiments . Instead, he opted for the departments of German , history and philosophy , which he studied at the Georg-August University in Göttingen and the Albert Ludwigs University in Freiburg . In 1956 he graduated with the state examination and his doctorate, initiated by Ernst Jahn and Walter Rehm, on the subject of time criticism in the work of Rilke with Klaus Ziegler .
In France he completed a year of editing and after his legal traineeship he was at the Heinrich Schütz School in Kassel , 1959-1960 at the König Heinrich School in Fritzlar and finally at the Herderschule in Kassel . He then taught for five years at the German School in Istanbul and, on his return to Germany, worked as a teacher at the Wilhelmsgymnasium in Kassel until his retirement. During his traineeship, he met his future wife Sigrid at school, with whom he had two sons.
In Turkey as well as in Kassel he founded school theater and in 1991 the Kassel amateur and student theater . For around five decades he occupied himself with amateur play for schoolchildren, students and older adults, for which he wrote eleven plays.
Müller had retired in 1991.
He died on April 15, 2020 at the age of 91 in Kassel.
