Horst Scharfenberg
Horst Scharfenberg (born August 20, 1919 in Frankfurt ; † January 18, 2006 in Baden-Baden ) was a German television chef , journalist , producer and author .
Life
Scharfenberg studied sociology at Columbia University in New York . As a journalist, he traveled to all countries in the world and spent a long time in the Arab world. During the Second World War he served in a propaganda company as a war correspondent. After the war he became known through radio, television and lectures at universities. He was the creator and for decades the head of the television program Mainz as it sings and laughs . Scharfenberg worked for the SWF (today: SWR) from 1946 to 1973 and gained fame in Germany through the Koch Club program . He founded the club in 1962 and moderated it until 1970. He was a member of the Food Editors Club Germany, FIPREGA (Fédération Intern. De la Presse Gastronomique), Fraternity Marmite (Chevalier de la Marmite Grand Masters), FDP, Sénéchal of the international wine brotherhood, Commandeurs des Domaines Schenk.
