Horst Weiß (born March 6, 1917 , † 1967 ) was a German football player. With SG Planitz he became soccer champion in the eastern zone in 1948 .

Athletic career

White emerged from the Zwickauer SC and from October 1941 was active as a war guest player at Hertha BSC for about a year with five missions in the Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg . The following year he made guest appearances at Hannover 96 and in 1944 at Eintracht Braunschweig , for which he was also used in the DM finals. When the football game business in the Soviet occupation zone revived in 1946 , the newly founded sports community (SG) Planitz started in the West Saxony district. Even without the 29-year-old Horst Weiß, who first played in the SGen Zwickau-Nord and then Zwickau-Mitte, she was champion of the Zwickau relay in her first competition season.

White, who had another short detour to Hannover 96 behind him, meanwhile joined VfL Neckarau , with whom he played in the Oberliga Süd football league until the end of 1947 . At the beginning of 1948 he returned to Planitz and won the championship in West Saxony with the SG Planitz. The sports community qualified for the soccer east zone championship in 1948 and won the title. White was successful as a goal scorer in all three games of the tournament, in the final against SG Freiimfelde Halle , in which he was called up as a center forward, he scored the 1-0 winning goal. With a total of four goals, he was the top scorer of the championship together with Wolfram Starke from Meeran . White was also part of the SG Planitz squad in the 1948/49 season, but this time only came fourth in the Saxon championship. He was part of the Saxony team three times that season. For the 1949/50 season, Horst Weiß moved to the company sports community (BSG) Gera-Süd in the new DS-Oberliga (later GDR Oberliga) . He was used in 15 of the 26 played point games and scored two goals.

In the summer of 1950, Weiß settled in West Berlin . Until the end of the year he was under contract with the Berlin champions tennis Borussia Berlin in the contract league Berlin , but was only used there in the reserve. Since there were disagreements about the fulfillment of the contract by TeBe, the VBB gave the striker clearance for Wacker 04 Berlin during the current season . From 1951 to the end of the 1953/54 season he played there in the contract league. He then ended his career as a football player. In the 1962/63 season he worked as coach of the contract league team of Viktoria 89 in Berlin. Under him, the club could not qualify for the new Berlin regional league and ended up in the third-class football amateur league Berlin . Horst Weiß then appeared again in higher-class football when he coached VfB Hermsdorf .
